TERMITE INSPECTIONS

Blue Chip Termite & Pest Control is an approved Kordon inspection company. Uphold your warranties with us.

Every year, termites in Brisbane and the Queensland area chew through wood, flooring and timber framing, causing wide-scale damage to homes and properties. The best way to stop this from happening is through regular termite inspections. If termites are detected, you can have them treated before they cause too much damage. This is why regular termite inspections are important – to catch them early.

When Was Your Last Termite Inspection?

What do termite inspections involve?

Our name says it all – Blue Chip Termite & Pest Control – we are experts in termite inspections and termite pest control in Brisbane. All of our termite inspections are carried out as per the relevant Australian Standards (AS 3660.1:2014 and AS 3660.2:2017).

If you’re a new customer, on the day of the inspection, we’ll begin by asking you if you’ve seen any signs of termites around your house. We’ll also ask if your house has a past history of termite problems.

During the inspection, we’ll check all of your fence lines, lawn area, yard, external and internal walls, subfloors, and roof voids for signs of termite damage or movement. We’ll also check for moisture around door and window frames and wall backings of showers and toilets. If our meters show a high moisture reading, we’ll use a termite radar to detect if there’s any termite activity in the walls.

All of our termite inspections include a written termite report, 7 to 10 pages in length, with photos of any problem areas. If we do find termites, we’ll identify what type of termites they are and where they are in your house. This information will be included in the report.

How long do termite inspections in Brisbane take?

We generally take between 1 and 1 ½ hours to complete a termite inspection. If we find termites on your property, the inspection may take longer.

What kind of equipment is used?

We have a range of gear for carrying out termite inspections, including the new 2021 Flir-EX series of high resolution thermal imagaing cameras, moisture meters, endoscopes and radar technology. This equipment enables us to accurately read and track termite activity in the walls.

I THINK I MAY HAVE TERMITES IN MY HOUSE

So you think you might have termites in your house, the worst thing you can do is spray fly spray or disturb the wall in any way. All this will do is drive the termites back under ground to come back up at a later time. Our approach to determining if you have termites in your house, what type of termites they are, and where they are in your house is to perform a full termite inspection as per the Australian Standards. Please note that a termite inspection is not a termite check. A termite check has no accreditation with the Australian Standards and does not cover the relevant checks needed to ensure the safety of your house.

Our termite inspections generally take between 1 to 1 ½ hours but depending on if we find termites in the house this could be longer. The available gear we have for termite inspections range from basic dongas and moisture meters through to endoscopes and radar technology to read and track movement in the walls. You can feel confident we have the right gear for the job to ensure the safety of your biggest investment.

TERMITE NESTS AROUND YOUR GARDENS AND TREES

For outdoor termite nests/trees, we drill and inject chemical into the nest/tree. We provide a Certificate of Subterranean Termite Treatment so you can see what has been done to resolve the issue. On most occasions we can identify the type of termites to let you know the level of risk they were to the house and if any additional steps need to be taken to ensure the safety of your property.
